Mrs. Morris' Biography This is Mrs. Morris' 19th year in education. She is originally from Pennsylvania where she taught in both the School District of Philadelphia and the Downingtown Area School District. She has classroom experience with grades 6-12 as well as collaboration in grades K-5. As a K-12 Curriculum Leader she gain a breadth of knowledge in various researched-based intervention programs and practices. Mrs. Morris was also a part of a team of local teachers that advised and assisted with the creation of test elements for the PSSA and the Keystone Exams. in 2014 Mrs. Morris moved to delaware. She has work in the Brandywine School district as a reading specialist and Providence Creek Academy as a K-8 Literacy Coach and Reading Specialist. Mrs. Morris has represented Delaware by participating in professional events with the smarter balance consortium and American institute of research item review, writing and mapping. Mrs. Morris stays on top of the latest research as a member of the International Reading Association. In 2018 Mrs. Morris joined brandywine springs school as a first grade teacher. after 19 years of teaching she feels like she has found a local and school community that feels like home to her. first grade has brought a joy to her life that is inexplicable.
On a personal note, Mrs. Morris moved to DE three years ago when she married her husband. Mrs. Morris has two step sons that bring her more joy than she could ever imagine. She describes herself as a beach bum in the summer, loves to bake, cook, garden, salsa dance and cuddle with her cat Josie.
